General Terms for Boarding and Services

Thank you for trusting Dog Coach Expert. These terms summarise, in plain language, what you need to know before booking boarding, a behaviour evaluation or a training programme for your dog at our centre in Cieneguilla, Lima. The full legal document is the Letter of Commitment (Carta de Compromiso), which you sign together with your dog’s information sheet before check-in.

1. Admission requirements

• Health: your dog must be healthy and show no signs of contagious disease. For boarding we ask for a veterinary certificate, issued within the last 30 days, confirming the absence of contagious diseases.
• Vaccinations: all vaccinations that are mandatory or recommended under Peruvian regulations must be up to date (copy of the vaccination card). The kennel cough vaccine is requested only in certain seasons.
• Parasite protection: active flea and tick protection (proof of application within the last month). If your dog arrives without protection, we give an anti-flea bath and a dose of Simparica or similar at the owner’s expense. Internal deworming is recommended.
• Prior evaluation: all boarding requires a prior evaluation of the dog. Breeds classified as potentially dangerous (PPP) are admitted only after an individual evaluation.
• Neutering: not a requirement.
• Medical treatment: we cannot accept dogs that need medical treatment beyond oral or topical medication. Bring the medication with written instructions.
• Dogs only: we do not accept cats or other animals.
• Check-in and check-out: always on a leash with a secure harness.

We reserve the right to decline a request or end a stay if the dog has no proof of vaccination, shows signs of untreated illness or displays behaviour that puts other dogs or our team at risk (aggression, destruction, excessive barking or other serious problems).

2. Documents needed to confirm a booking

1. Letter of Commitment, signed on every page.
2. Dog information sheet, signed on every page.
3. Copy of the owner’s DNI, foreigner’s card (CE) or passport.
4. Copy of the guarantor’s / emergency contact’s DNI, CE or passport.
5. Copy of the vaccination card plus proof of deworming and flea/tick treatment.
6. Proof of payment (for bank transfers).

3. Prices, payment and quotes

• Published prices include IGV (Peruvian VAT). We offer discounts for several dogs or long stays: just ask.
• We do not ask for a deposit. Services up to S/ 1,000 are paid in full when the booking is confirmed. For amounts above S/ 1,000, returning clients can arrange payment in instalments.
• We accept cash, credit card, bank transfer, Yape and Plin.
• Additional services requested during the stay (specific care, special food, extra grooming, etc.) are agreed and paid for at the time of the request.
• Pick-up and drop-off: the cost depends on the district and is stated in your quote. If the dog soils the vehicle during transport, a cleaning fee of S/ 80 applies; we recommend not feeding your dog before the trip and taking it for a walk beforehand.

4. Cancellations, date changes and no-shows

• If the dog does not arrive on the booked date, there is no refund.
• If you decide to shorten the stay before the planned departure date, unused days are not refunded.
• If the payment agreement is not honoured, Dog Coach Expert may cancel the booking; payments already made are not refunded.
• Date changes are arranged directly with us and depend on availability. In high season (January to March, Easter week, Fiestas Patrias in late July, and December) demand is higher: please let us know as early as possible.

5. Collecting your dog at the end of the stay

If the dog is not collected on the scheduled date and we cannot reach the owner or the guarantor, the Animal Protection and Welfare Law (Law No. 30407) obliges us to treat the case as abandonment: we will file the corresponding report and deliver the dog to the address provided by the owner or guarantor, or put it up for adoption. Unpaid services, transport costs and collection costs remain the responsibility of the owner and the guarantor.

6. Guarantor

We ask for a guarantor (emergency contact) who takes responsibility if the owner cannot fulfil their commitments. The guarantor provides their personal details and a copy of their ID document and signs the Letter of Commitment.

7. Care, health and liability

• We commit to caring for your dog responsibly throughout the stay and, where applicable, during transport. Your dog is accompanied 24 hours a day and sleeps inside the house.
• Our team are not veterinarians. In an emergency, or whenever we consider it necessary, we will take your dog to a veterinary clinic, inform you immediately, and the costs are borne by the owner.
• Although we apply strict vaccination, hygiene and supervision protocols, there is an inherent risk of disease transmission and of incidents between dogs (bites, injuries) during play, even among well-socialised dogs. The owner accepts these risks and releases Dog Coach Expert from liability for them and for health conditions that pre-exist or arise during the stay. We recommend taking out insurance for your dog.
• To protect other dogs or our team we may use water, a muzzle or other necessary measures.
• We follow strict bathing and grooming standards; we are not responsible for allergic reactions to grooming products. Please check with your vet if your dog has allergies.

8. Photos and videos

During the stay you receive photos and videos of your dog. The owner authorises Dog Coach Expert to use photos and videos of their dog for informational and promotional purposes.

8b. Evaluation 360® and personalised manual

When the contracted service is the 5-day behaviour evaluation (Evaluation 360®), we deliver a personalised manual to the family as a PDF, by e-mail or WhatsApp, up to 7 calendar days after the dog returns home. The manual is personal and confidential, does not replace a veterinary consultation and is not a guarantee of results: the dog’s progress depends on the family applying the plan at home. Continuing with a specific or rehabilitation program is optional.

9. What to bring

• Daily food with detailed instructions.
• Medication with written instructions.
• Snacks or treats.
• Optional: bed, blanket or mattress; favourite toys or plush toys.

10. Disputes

Any dispute relating to these services will be resolved in accordance with the rules of the Peruvian Arbitration Association (Asociación Peruana de Arbitraje). In case of doubt, the Spanish version of these terms and the signed Letter of Commitment prevail.
